I received some very awesome news just the other day… I have OFFICIALLY been nominated as a finalist in the 2019 Designer Toy Awards under the category of “BEST NON-LICENSED” for my Geoffrey The homeless Giraffe figure entitled “NO TOYS 4 US” released thru DKE Toys at SDCC 2018!! This is freakin’ amazing and so unbelievable!!!

In the email I received they said: “If you were not planning on attending, you may want to reconsider.” which I thought was funny, but of course I had already planned to attend! In fact I am not only going to the DTA’s but I will be selling toys at Five Points Festival (June 1-2, Brooklyn NY) booth #528 with the *Assembly Required crew all that weekend!

But wait there’s more… Also on the trip to/from the Five Points Fest I will be touring with my band Rat Babies and I will be setting up a Mr Blank Toys table with other local toymakers at every show along the way for our NOISE & TOYS TOUR (May 29th – June 8th). Mr Blank Toys has the privilege of currently showing pieces at a couple different galleries including: Clutter Magazine “(In)Action Figures 7“, the “Robot Remix Art Show” group show at Sp(a)ce Gallery in Pasadena (May 4 -Sept) curated by Mark Todd & DKE Toys, and “Toy Artists Of The Mid-Southeast Unite” group show at Dye Pretty Salon in Winston-Salem NC… So if you are in those areas makes sure to swing by and check those exclusives out.
