A Little SAD… Yet EXCITING

Today is Day One of the bus cleanup, the inside! The brakes seem to be working, but we found more problems in the back so we couldn’t fully bleed the system like we had hoped to get done today. Good news is that the brakes in the back are rotors and pads too, not drum brakes, so we’ll be getting to those replaced once I save up more money for the job.

So today I got up early, which almost never happens, and got to work on pulling all the guts of the bus galley out… Of course the wood will soon be turned into more Skull Bus painting, so look out for more of those once I get back from the November Rat Babies tour. Hopefully I’ll get them done just in time for everyone to buy them as gifts for your loved or unloved ones, lol.

A big ole pile of wood:

Here’s some before and during the deconstruction:

Ooooh, Bacon Flavored Poprocks!

MmmmEwww, they were pleasantly gross.

Its kinda sad to see the inside getting ripped out, especially when I run into a corner spot that’s got Frank hair stashed away in it.

Also, it reminds me how much work I put into this home when I first built it out. I took six months to live in the bus before I was sure of exactly how I wanted it, where I wanted every little detail, what would flow best with my needs and of course the shape of the bus. Once I decided on a design I went to work pulling old Carnivale Of Black Hearts games and signs apart and reworked them into closets, a fold away bed, a dresser, sitting areas, and more… And I have been living in it with that design ever since. I honestly don’t think I would change much of the design layout because it was near perfect for what I needed. We’ll see how I rebuild it this time once I have the major overhaul that this bus needs done, inside and out! But, that thought has me pretty excited for what I’m going to be doing with the bus for the Classic City Fringe Festival, end of Oct… I thought it might be cool to get with a few friends to create a concept. Who’s interested?

Anyways back to work… More updates to follow.
